Yes you can install an OS on a SD card, BUT Good luck finding a computer that allows you to boot from an SD card If the OS has a swap file, it will greatly diminish the longevity of the SD card Not a lot of computers actually come with built in SD card slots, the ones that do tend to be laptops. Use ssh email protected from Linux or Mac. Windows users can use Putty ssh client. Once you are in run sudo -s to become root user. Start or stop miners, agent, etc. Only from root user. If you prefer graphic UI, VNC server is there for you. Use VNC Viewer or any other VNC client to connect to your IP address vnc://192.168.0.xxx:5900.
Hey guys, I'm having a bit of an issue reinstalling mavericks after upgrading to an SSD. Using Disk maker X I made a copy of the Mavericks installer on an 8GB SD card. I formatted and installed my new SSD. I insert the SD card and I boot from it. I'm in the Mavericks installer in OS X Utilities. I choose Install OS X and I get the dialogue that 'the install OS X Mavericks application can't be used from this disk. Copy this application to a writable Mac OS Extended formatted disk and reopen it to continue installation.'

I'm assuming that the installer thinks the SD card is the target disk? How do I go about solving this from within Disk Utility? Can I copy the installer from my SD card onto the new SSD? Thanks.
